People of all nationalities can suffer from Eczema. But research tells us that in the US, Black and Latin American children have more severe eczema than white children. It’s important to recognize that symptoms look different on these skin tones.
Here are some important things for you and your doctor to look out for:
Royalty Gardens makes safe and effective soap and moisturizers for people who suffer with eczema. Dermatologists recommend products that are free from chemicals and fragrance or perfume. Find our most popular skin moisturizer here.
The first line of defense in our daily battle for holistic health is our skin. At Royalty Gardens we make sure your soaps are equipped to fight for you in the various ways you may need them to.
Below are some of our most popular bars and the weapons they are packing.
CITRUS MINT SCRUB w tea tree oil (CMS)
Studies show Tea Tree Oil has the same effect as the leading acne fighting chemical benzoyl peroxide in treating acne. Tea tree oil works slower than benzoyl peroxide, but it is also less irritating on the face. Wash your face twice daily using CMS w tree oil. Let the soap sit for 30 sec before you rinse--then use a light moisturizer.
FRUIT SMOOTHIE w greek yogurt
Greek yogurt contains zinc, lactic acid and a high fat content because it’s made with milk. The fats give our soap additional moisturizing properties and a creamy silky smooth lather for the skin. Zinc dries out excessive oils and encourages faster cell repair which is helpful for those with eczema. Its natural antibacterial properties also make handmade yogurt soap especially suited for your face and hands to cleanse pores and remove bacteria.
BLUE BLACK w activated charcoal
Many believe activated charcoal to be the best skin cleanser and pore purifier because of its absorbent properties. But, when used in soap, there is not enough time for it to flex this muscle in the shower. However, a side effect of its absorption is odor control. Our BlueBlack bar is great for hard to resolve body odor, foot order and hard to please armpits. Use twice a day until the situation is under control.
Moroccan rhassoul clay has traditionally been used in beauty masks. In our soap the clay is allowed to penetrate the skin's surface and absorb excess sebum oil--making it an excellent anti-acne bar. When washing the face let the soap sit on the skin for 30-60 seconds. The minerals present in Moroccan clay prevent drying and promote skin clarity by allowing pores to breathe. Pores that can breathe makes for skin that is alive and well.
I have never been into make-up. As a young girl I would admire my mother's pretty dress shoes, perfumes and her jewelry, but the make up never kept my attention. I was more interested in boys and basketball. When I went off to college, my peers found it unbelievable that I didn't spend time in the mirror before class “putting on my face.” I was always the first one ready and referred to as “glowing”. I think the glowing part was due to me being one of the few black girls on campus.
I tried to wear make up casually a few times. I even tried applying it myself (not wise for a cosmetic novice), but I always felt out of place wearing it. I'm pretty sure my attempt was an act of assimilation to the culture versus a desire to look a different way. Fast forward to my wedding day. This is the day of all days where girls all over the world dream about being made up and dressed up to look their most beautiful. I knew exactly who would do my makeup and I could not wait to honor her with the responsibility. My cousin loved makeup and everything about it. I was her blank canvas.
The wedding day was fun and memorable. There was lots of laughter, dancing, and old friends from far away cities. But when I look at the photos, I find myself not recognizing me. Pictures that should make me celebrate a new chapter of life actually make me feel--not like myself. I love my naturally beautiful skin. Today, you will only catch me wearing lip gloss. My skin and I have had our rough times, bumps, and bruises, but overall, it has been good to me. I'm done experimenting with makeup, I only use essential all natural personal care items on my face and body.
I use Royalty Gardens head to toe all natural soaps daily to keep it rejuvenated and functioning correctly. Organic Shea butter and olive oil prevent drying of the skin and the chemical free formula will not leave your skin vulnerable to acne, dermatitis, or skin rashes. Each soap is fragranced with an essential oil blend that offers an exciting scent as well as an aromatic therapeutic benefit. The soaps have goodies and additives like rhassoul clay, activated charcoal, mineral crystal powder, or bentonite clay.
Our skin is our largest organ and the first defense against sickness and disease. It's the first thing we see when we examine ourselves visually--so we must love it! The first part of having healthy skin is accepting what's wrapped underneath and deciding it's worthy, everyday. You were made from the good stuff in the earth. Use the same elements to maintain your status.
